Stadium Talk at Vonovia Ruhrstadion

Working together to address the skilled labor shortage – ENTEX at the stadium talk at Vonovia Ruhrstadion

Training instructor Florian Apfeld and apprentice Noah Ruddat

The shortage of skilled workers is one of the greatest challenges of our time. At the same time, we are still not succeeding in providing every young person with a smooth transition from school into the world of work.

At the stadium talk held at Vonovia Ruhrstadion, ENTEX had the opportunity to exchange ideas with representatives from business, politics, and education on the future of securing a skilled workforce.

Representing  ENTEX were our training instructor,  Florian Apfeld,  and our mechatronics apprentice,  Noah Ruddat. Both agreed:

“Training and supporting young people is not only a social responsibility but also an investment in the future of our companies and our region. Achieving this requires strong networks, practical career guidance, and the courage to explore new approaches to attracting young talent.”

Noah particularly appreciated the open and constructive discussions. Among the topics explored were promising solutions, including the idea of giving students the opportunity to complete internships across different industries to broaden their career orientation and gain a better understanding of the wide range of career paths available.

Florian also drew a very positive conclusion:

“The stadium talk was a valuable exchange between the various stakeholders. I was especially impressed that the political representatives deliberately gave apprentices a voice and actively included their perspectives in the discussion. Only by taking the experiences of young people seriously can we develop sustainable concepts for vocational training. I am taking away many valuable ideas and new inspiration for my work as a training instructor at ENTEX.”

A big thank you to everyone involved for the open dialogue and the valuable insights. Together, we can create the conditions needed to secure the skilled workforce of tomorrow.
