Vulcanizable elastomer compound production and processing on the Planetary Roller Extruder.

Mission accomplished: As part of a feasibility study, the production of a vulcanizable elastomer compound on the Planetary Roller Extruder was carried out in a trial at our technical center in Bochum in cooperation with Semperit AG.

Revolutionary: The processing of rubber and elastomers on the Planetary Roller Extruder takes place in a continuous process – no complex batch processes necessary.

Highlights of the trial:

  • The Planetary Roller Extruder was set up in stages to optimize the process in a targeted manner.
  • Good mixing of approx. 30% carbon black after only one of four roller cylinders.
  • Successful continuous mixing of the crosslinking agents while maintaining the necessary temperature limits, so that an early reaction could be avoided.

Reach the next level with continuous processing!
